A Harmony of Nature and History

Located in the heart of Delaware, Ashland Nature Center is a hidden gem that not only provides an opportunity to appreciate nature but also to learn about the history of the area. Walking through the lush green forests accompanied by the calming chirping of birds, I sensed a feeling of harmony with nature. The center also provides an insight into the history of native people and early European settlers who inhabited the land. The meandering trails lead to breathtaking spots like the Red Clay Creek and the historical Dickinson family estate. I compared this place to other historical and natural places I have visited in Delaware, but the unique combination of history and nature at Ashland Nature Center differentiates it from the rest.
