The Heavenly View from Sâmbăta Ridge

As I flew over Sâmbăta Ridge, I saw the most breathtaking view of Bâlea Lake below. The crystal clear blue of the lake contrasted beautifully with the green of the forests around it and the white of the snow on the mountains beyond. The old cable car line leading to the lake added a touch of human history to the natural beauty. The ridge itself is a geological wonder, with its layers of sedimentary rocks revealing the history of the earth's crust in this region. I compared this view with all the other places in Romania I'd seen, and realized that none of them held such beauty and awe as this.
