I traveled to the top of the Barnegat Light lighthouse, which stands at 172 feet tall. The lighthouse was constructed in 1859 and has played a significant role in guiding ships through the Jersey shore's Graveyard of the Atlantic. The view from the top of the lighthouse was magnificent, I could see the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay. The tower is made of rubblestone and is black and white striped, which makes it easy to spot from afar. The lighthouse is located in Long Beach Island, a popular destination for beachgoers in New Jersey. Compared to other lighthouses in New Jersey, the Barnegat Light lighthouse has a unique history, and it was exciting to learn about its past.
