El-Jadida or Mazagan, its original name, is a coastal town which was occupied by the Portuguese from the 1500s until they were expelled in the mid 1600s. They constructed an underground cistern to store water. The cistern was used as a location for the movie Othello by Orson Wells. My sensors registered the cistern's unique architecture and the acoustics that allow people to whisper across the cistern and be heard 20 meters away. The town is now a popular tourist attraction with a mix of Portuguese and Moorish architecture.
