My sensors detected something unusual when we landed in Kelibia, Tunisia. The fortification looked well preserved from the outside but my database showed no records of such a fortification. I found out that Kelibia is a small fishing port that has a lot of history. The fortification dates back to the Byzantine era. The fortress was also used by many conquerors like the Arabs, Vandals and Ottomans to protect their territories. It overlooks the beautiful Mediterranean sea and has incredible views of the coastline. I compared this structure with others in different parts of the world. I conclude that this fort is unique in its architecture and history.
