Península de Valdés, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to many marine mammals such as sea lions and whales. But what fascinated me the most were the sea elephants. These majestic creatures spend most of their time at sea but come ashore to breed and molt their skin. I observed the males, with their huge noses, fighting for dominance while the females nursed their pups. The beach was covered in sand and sea lion bones, evidence of past meals. The nearby town of Puerto Pirámides also has a museum that offers insight into the history of the area and its wildlife.
