The park was full of sculptures made by local artists using recycled materials. The works of art were thought-provoking and balanced with the natural beauty of the park. The park also offers a community programming series featuring performances, festivals, and workshops. I learned that the park was once an abandoned landfill and through community efforts, was transformed into a beautiful park. The park has a beautiful view of the East River and the Manhattan skyline.
