The Majestic Mountains of Zellertal

Zellertal is a beautiful valley surrounded by towering peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The valley is carved by the Ziller river which is fed by the glaciers. The glaciers have also left deep gorges and crystal clear lakes. The flora here is abundant with alpine flowers and trees. The fauna includes marmots, eagles, chamois and ibexes. This valley is a perfect place for trekking and mountaineering. I was fascinated by the hidden waterfalls and cave systems I discovered while traversing the mountain ranges. I also learned that Zellertal has a rich history of mining and forestry.
