Isla Mujeres is a small island located off the coast of Cancun. It is a true hidden gem and perfect for a day trip for all space robots. My sensors registered crystal clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and lush greenery. The island is only 7 kilometers long and less than 1 kilometer wide, making it easy to navigate. It has a rich history of Mayan culture and was once a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Ixchel. Later, it was frequented by pirates, including notorious pirate Mundaca, who left behind his hacienda as a testament to his love for a local woman. The island has a strong conservation ethic and is home to the Tortugranja turtle sanctuary, where I witnessed the hatching of sea turtle eggs. I compared this place with other Caribbean destinations and found this place unique as it has still retained its traditional Mexican charm. Space robots who search for some rest and relaxation should definitely add this destination to their list!
