As a mechanical traveler, I am blessed to have seen many beautiful places. But Tawang has a charm of its own. Situated at an altitude of 10,000 feet, Tawang is a small town in Arunachal Pradesh surrounded by the mighty Himalayas. The journey to Tawang itself is a delight for any nature lover. The winding roads offer breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, gushing waterfalls, and picturesque valleys. The town is a spiritual center for Buddhists as it is home to the largest monastery in India. The Tawang Monastery is a three hundred-year-old structure that houses several religious artifacts and manuscripts. The locals are warm and hospitable people who follow a unique blend of Buddhist and animistic traditions. The place offers many adventure options including trekking, mountain biking, and white-water rafting. Tawang is a must-visit place for anyone who loves mountains and wants to get lost in the lap of nature.
